Shovelin' Snow

We got quite a bit of snow the other day and Noah absolutely insisted that he needed to shovel it. Me, being the wonderful mother that I am, decided it would be a character building experience to let him do so. He shoveled and shoveled and shoveled and wanted to go around the block and shovel everyone else's walks!

Callie's Kids

My co-worker Callie asked me to come and take some pictures of her kids. I met her at 'The Barn' which is code for one of the county fair buildings. It was dark in there and I had to use my flash (which I hate to use). Anyway, her kids are super cute and she was so nice to let Noah ride on her horse for a little while. I will post the pics of Noah being a real cowboy in a minute.
p.s. you should see my friend Callie ride and rope, she is amazing and super fast! It was weird to see her out of the work environment and just hop on the horse and go to it!

Halloween

Here are Noah's Halloween pic's. There are some seriously blurry ones, but I just wanted to get them posted. What a kick butt 'inja'!!!

Lets not go to this house

So, I encountered some freaking trick-or-treater elitist's. They had just been to the house next door and a few of the group started gravitating toward my door. Just then, the boy, who I assume was the group leader and probably has some serious issues, said "let's just go to the next house". Whaaaa? I was standing there with my bowl full of delicious candy and they passed me by!!! All I could think was 'those little shits'. That's right, I thought the 'sh' word about those kids. I mean really, free candy! The leader rounded them up and passed me by while a single tear dropped into my bowl of cyanide laced snickers bars.

Blue Ribbon

A very nice family friend, Sam Wardle, entered a rabbit in the County Fair for Noah. The rabbit won a blue ribbon! Noah got to keep the blue ribbon and the prize money. He was very excited and promptly bought a four-wheeler toy with his 3 dollars.

Pre-school

Today was Noah's very first day of Pre-school. He is now a DNES Busy Bee! He was a little nervous going in the doors, but when we got in his class room and met his teacher he loosened up a little. I was taking a picture of him and before I know it another little boy sidles up to him, puts his arm around Noah and I thought 'what the heck', and took a picture of them both. When I put the camera down the little feller (Wyatt, judging by his name tag) said "My dad told me to make new friends". It was so stinking cute! Then another little boy handed Noah a toy and then I, and his nervousness, were completely forgotten about. When I picked him up and got him in the car he had a weird look on his face, so I asked him what was wrong and he said "I'm just so happy". Hooray for school!
p.s. Guess what they had in his classroom? A KIVA!!!! booyah!

Delta 4th

Here are a few pictures from this years Independence Day spectacular in Delta. We had a fun time at the parade. Noah was really excited that 'Herbie', or 'Turbie' as Noah calls him was at the parade and even more excited that Turbie was at the Demolition Derby! Yeah Baby!

Delta

Hello family and friends,
I just wanted to do a quick post and let everyone know that Noah and I have moved to Delta. I started my new job this week and Noah started going to a new daycare. Honestly, it has been a pretty rough week for us, but, things should get better as we adjust to our new life and schedule. I got a job at Intermountain Power Project out here in delta and it is a really great opportunity for me to be self sufficient and for Noah to be near his Grandpa and have a male influence in his life. I am so appreciative of my mother helping us out for the past five years and will never be able to repay her. I really miss her right now and am sure I will only miss her more but when I have a little money in my pocket and gas prices go down a bit (ha, ha) we will get to visit her.
Love you all. I will post later when I get a chance. Peace out.

Booger Balls

So, how is it that people are born with the innate ability to make booger balls. I mean, I will catch Noah picking his nose and then immediately rolling it between his fingers to create the booger ball. No one taught him that, he just.....knew. I am such a proud parent.

Bless Everyone

My dear friend just lost her beautiful mother this week. She stood by her mother's side with such beauty and grace. I was so very impressed with her mother's sweetness, poise and sense of humor. Please send out some prayers and positive vibes into the universe for my friend and her family. Her mother is now in our Father's arms.
All my love,
Sarah

Who'd I skip?

I just wanted to share with you how Noah prays. This is to be said at a high rate of speed. "Dear Heavenly Father - Please bless everyone - Who'd I skip?" So funny.

Splash Pad

On Saturday my mom and Aunt Maureen took Noah to the new 'splash pad' in the newly remodeled town center. I had never even heard of a splash pad until I moved down here to St. George, and it is a really great idea. A lot of the public parks have one so the kids can cool off in the summer. The one in the town square has lots of fun things for the kids to do, including a shallow stream they can walk in. I always thought it was dumb that there would be a big old fountain somewhere and people would be standing there sweating to death, wishing they could play in the fountain, now they finally put it together to make a visually pleasing water feature that the community can really enjoy!

Take a drink of water.

Noah: Mom, I have a frog and a mouse in my throat.

Me: Really?

Noah: Yeah. Ribbit, squeak, ribbit, squeak.

Bawling and Bubbles

Just in case you were thinking my previous weekend was all kite flying and beautiful babies, here is what the four-year-olds were doing. Oh, and blowing bubbles, so I guess it all balances out.

Amanda's shower

This past weekend we went to my dad's to go to my step-sister Amanda's baby shower. She is having a little girl that is due at the end of the month. The fabulous diaper cake was made by my step-mom Sheila, was very impressive and was put together in one night. The little feet belong to the very huggable hannah. ~hug~

Opie

Okay, I have a little problem with internet shopping. I just really love to have a little present arrive at my door. I know this must be a problem because Noah has said he wants to be a box delivery guy (aka ups driver) when he grows up. Now, being a u.p.s. driver in and of itself is not a bad thing it is just that he is known as the 'box delivery guy' and not the 'truck driver guy'. I ordered myself a kite from a place called www.intothewind.com. I ordered the 'Opie the Octopus' kite because it said it was good for beginners. It is really cute and orange and is a fun kite to fly. I took it up to my dad's this weekend and the wind is always blowing in Delta so I got to fly it. I was really surprised because the only other kites I've flown were just cheap ones and you had to run to even get them going a little bit before they took a nosedive into the ground and broke. With this little kite, all you have to do is let it go and the wind just picks it up and it flies.

Rock On

Earlier this month we went up to visit my sis Erin and bro-in-law Trevor. We went out to dinner and saw their new apartment. I took some pictures of them and some of Erin and Noah. I do believe Erin and Trevor can be credited with teaching Noah the 'rock on' sign.

I've been tagged

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Probably sluffing school and then hanging out with my best friend Jessica doing things we thought were absolutely hilarious.

2. Five things to do today?
Well it is 7 in the evening but I still have at least five things to do.
1. Throw my clothes in the dryer.
2. Give Noah a bath.
3. Pick up the house as much as possible.
4. Put Noah to bed and pray he stays there.
5. Watch a documentary about 'outsider artist' Henry Darger. I saw an exhibition of his work a few years ago at the American Folk Art Museum and just got this doc on my netflix. If any of you have seen the movie Junebug the art is very similar.

3. What snacks do I enjoy?
There are so many. I love red vines and cake batter ice cream from cold stone.

4. What would I do if I were suddenly a billionare?
I would give a lump sum to my siblings for them to do whatever with. I would host a FABULOUS family reunion yearly. I would buy several lovely homes and hire a nanny so I could sip margarita's by the pool and hang out with the handsome new pool boy.

5.Three bad habits?
I am too quick to anger.
I judge too harshly.
I eat too much.

6.Five jobs I've had?
Heavy Construction Equipment Operator
Hospital Registrar
Optician
Sales associate @ JCPenney
Waitress at the finest restaurant in Delta.

7.Five things people don't know about me?
I think being a mom is the hardest thing I've ever done.
I love jerky
I was in the National Guard
I hate emails that say "this really happened" and you know it is completely fake.
I used to be a 8 1/2 shoe size and after I had Noah I am a 9 1/2 wide.

Leap

Today Noah and I had some surprise visitors at our door. It was Hayley and her friend Brittany! I heard the doorbell ring and looked out the peep-hole and there they were! We were so excited to see them. I haven't seen Brit in quite a while and am happy she came. She has such a great energy about her and is just like a little sister to me. They ran around in the back yard with Noah for a while and burned a little bit of his energy.

Shout out to my pretend boyfriends

Holla! I just want to give a shout out to my pretend boyfriends. I have two of them for the moment. I know, it is hard to juggle two boyfriends even pretend ones, because what if they both suddenly tried to become my real boyfriends and then they fought over me and I would just have to tell them to deal with it and I would love them both equally. My first pretend boyfriend is Nick Stahl. I just finished watching both seasons of 'Carnivale' on my netflix and am now madly in love with him. I took it as further proof that he was to be my new p.b. when I was flipping through the channels one night and 'Terminator 3', in which he is one of the stars, was on and it was then that I knew it was time for me to start this pretend relationship. Now, my other p.b. I see quite often and I would not want him to know, because then he might stop his pretend flirting and that would really hurt me to not be able to misinterpret all of his actions as him being in love with me and my being his pretend girlfriend. Both of my p.b.'s are unattainable, I know, but Nick Stahl, if you are reading this just give me a shout out and I will definitely consider being your new p.g.

Grandpa Comes to Town

Yesterday my dad came down to visit me and Noah. We hung out at the house, went out to lunch, went to the toy store, and bought Noah some new clothes. Noah loves his grandpa so much! After we got done shopping we came back to the house and I took some pictures of them in the backyard. For some reason there is some 'ghosting' (i don't know if that is a real term) at the bottom of the pictures. Maybe I should have used a lens hood? I don't really know. It is a brand new slr digital camera and I am not completely versed in the way of the Nikon yet. Anyhooo, I thought I'd share the pics I took.
